Sylvania High School grad is fullback with Toledo Patriots

Jon Burgess, a 1966 graduate of Sylvania High School is a member of the Toledo Patriots Football Club. This will be his second year with the Patriots and he is a fullback.

The team opens the season with an away game on Sunday, Aug 19, against the Sidney Stingers. The first home game will be on Sunday, Sept. 2, against the Columbus Winds. All home games will be played at Waite High School Stadium on Sunday afternoons. Kickoff time is 2 p.m.

The Toledo Patriots are members of the Ohio Football League, one of the largest and strongest semi-professional leagues in the nation. As new members of the league last year, the Patriots took the opposition by surprise, winning the Western Division Championship, 8 - 2 .

The Patriots, this year, are off again to a winning start. In an exhibition game against Fostoria, the Patriots won 22-0.
